We are seeking an experienced Digital Experience Design Lead to join Perth’s award winning and largest independent full-service creative agency. Our independence sets us apart at Rare and allows us to put people at the heart of everything we do.

As the Digital Experience Design Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the future of digital interactions and projects. This role demands a unique blend of creativity, strategic foresight, and technical expertise to deliver high-quality digital experiences, with a primary focus on website design and crafting user experiences across platforms such as Figma and Adobe Suite.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Crafting high-quality digital experiences

  • Create and oversee the design of websites and other digital products that align with client needs and audience expectations.
  • Apply strategic thinking and high-quality design to deliver engaging digital experiences.

Leading the Digital Experience Design Team

  • Guide, mentor, and oversee the creative growth and output of the Digital Experience Design team.
  • Manage team workflow and traffic to ensure timely and high-standard project execution.
  • Build and maintain a network of freelance designers to support the team as needed.

Developing Rare’s Digital IP & Standards

  • Drive the evolution of Rare’s digital project presentations and ensure continuity in high standards.
  • Establish and refine internal processes to enhance efficiency and creative quality.

Contributing to Business Growth

  • Collaborate on new business pitches, including creative concept development and client presentations.

Keeping Rare at the Forefront of Digital Trends

  • Stay ahead of evolving digital trends and best practices to refine our offerings.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Rare’s digital experience services for both new and existing clients.

About YOU

  • Expertise in high-quality website design.
  • Strong skills in user journey mapping, leveraging user stories and personas.
  • Experience in structuring information architecture, including sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Ability to conduct website audits and competitor analyses.
  • Proficiency in interpreting data and qualitative feedback to drive design decisions.
  • Creatively driven and passionate about digital design, with a keen eye for detail and innovation.
  • Cross-discipline skills and experience are an advantage – e.g. animation, motion design, UX/UI, or interaction design.
  • An efficient executor with strong capabilities in Figma and Adobe Suite, prepared to be hands-on in the design and execution of digital concepts.
  • A collaborative mindset, keen to work in-person in Perth, engaging with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-impact digital experiences.

Skills & Experience
